Transforming Your Health Through Food and Habit Change

How did you first learn about nutrition? For most of us, it was in grade school or junior high during health class, or perhaps in a high school biology course. These courses were helpful for basic theory, but they rarely taught us how to eat in the real world or how powerful our psychology, habits, and environment are in shaping our food choices.

Throughout his academic journey, Dr. Moran has taken numerous classes covering nutrition, biology, anatomy, physiology, and public health. After graduating from Chiropractic College, he continued to pursue extensive continuing education on a wide range of health-related topics.

However, he quickly realized that the standard training for doctors and health professionals was largely built around the old food pyramid. The emphasis was on a model that did not always reflect the best available evidence for reversing chronic disease and promoting long-term health.

As he delved deeper into the scientific literature, he discovered critical but often overlooked research. For example, studies from as far back as 1923 showed that type 2 diabetes could be reversed in some individuals in as little as 18 days. Information like this is essential, yet it was never part of the standard curriculum. Even in holistic college settings, nutrition courses often mirrored traditional medical programs and simply reinforced the food pyramid model instead of exploring truly therapeutic approaches.

Since 2011, the USDA has replaced the food pyramid with the “MyPlate” guidelines. While some modern sources, including online tools, describe MyPlate as plant-based, a closer look at the USDA’s own materials reveals that it is essentially a reshaped version of the food pyramid. The picture has changed, but the foundational assumptions and food categories remain very similar.

Our office provides a research-based alternative to conventional dietary recommendations. Your cravings and eating habits are influenced not only by personal choice, but also by your social environment. You are a reflection of the company you keep. While scientific research offers powerful strategies to improve health, most diet plans fail because they demand abrupt, extreme changes that are difficult to sustain.

Our proprietary eating protocol is built on well-researched principles and is continually updated as new evidence emerges. Unlike many programs that expect immediate perfection, we recognize that gradual transition is often necessary for real, lasting change. Small, consistent improvements in how you shop, cook, and eat can add up to major changes in your health.

We all understand that “good nutrition” is important, yet the definition of good nutrition remains unclear for many people. Proper nutrition can reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke, cancer, and osteoporosis. Yet most doctors simply say “eat healthy” without providing a clear, actionable roadmap.

These same doctors know that the right diet can lower high blood pressure and cholesterol, but prescribing medication is often the default approach. Many Americans have been conditioned to believe that a pill will solve their health problems. In reality, medication often only manages symptoms instead of addressing the root cause.

The food you eat has the power to strengthen your immune system, enhance your sense of well-being, accelerate recovery, and boost your energy. Optimal health requires the right balance of nutrients, vitamins, and minerals. Many people are unsure which supplements to take and end up choosing low-quality products filled with unnecessary additives. Others don’t realize they may need supplementation at all, given the nutrient depletion that is common in modern diets.

Through our eating protocol, you’ll gain valuable insights into how your body responds to different foods, and you’ll receive practical tools and strategies that can transform your health. In our office, we assess each patient’s unique needs based on their lifestyle, medical history, and dietary patterns, and then provide tailored recommendations to correct deficiencies and optimize overall well-being.
